How many balloons for a balloon ceiling? ›

Calculating The Number of Ceiling Balloons Required

For single helium balloons there is an easy formula to calculate how many balloons you should order. Simply multiply the length of the room by the width of the room and multiply by 10, 7 or 5.

Foil Balloons - do I fill with air or helium? Some foil balloons are air-fill only and this information is on each item description. Most foil balloons that can be filled with helium can also be filled with air but of course wont float To fill a balloon with air insert a straw into the valve and blow into it.

A common reason for a balloon not to float is when it is under inflated. Do not fill a balloon smaller than 9 inches with helium as they only float for a few hours. When the weight of the balloon exceeds the lift of the helium gas, the balloon will also not float.

Air-Filled

If you're inflating balloons yourself, good news is you can save your lungpower by using a handheld balloon pump or an electric balloon bump. In general, most air-filled balloons will last for 6-8 weeks.

For a standard 10-foot arch, 100 balloons typically provide adequate coverage. However, if you envision a denser or more detailed design, you'll need to increase that number. It's a good practice to always have some extra balloons on hand for any unexpected needs.

Hydrogen is the most abundant element and provides many of the same attributes as helium in many ways. These gases are much lighter than the atmospheric construct and will allow latex and foil balloons to soar. Due to their low densities, both gases, when blown into a balloon, will propel the product into the air.

Instead of filling the balloon with helium, you need to fill it with hot air. You can do this by using a hairdryer, holding the end of the balloon close to the hairdryer and letting the hot air fill it up. Once it is full of hot air, tie off the end of the balloon and watch it float!

Like most people, you probably envision Mylar balloons as being shiny. However, genuine Mylar balloons are made from transparent plastic that contains zero metal, whereas foil balloons do contain metal and have a shiny exterior appearance. Mylar is actually a brand name.

If you purchase your balloons from another store, your local Party City can fill those with helium, too. Helium prices can vary depending on your location, so it's a good idea to call ahead.

Decide Which Size Garland You Need

The 20-foot garland: about 200 balloons. The 15-foot garland: about 150 balloons. The 10-foot garland: about 100 balloons. The 5-foot garland: about 50 balloons.

How many balloons for a balloon arch? For a standard-sized balloon arch or garland, you'll want roughly 70 latex balloons made out of a mix of sizes. Many of our kits contain two sizes (usually 11” and 5”) but the greater variety of sizes, the more exciting it looks!

There is a great formula to work out how many balloons you need. Multiply the length (L) and the width (W) of the space you want to cover with balloons on the ceiling. Then… L x W x 10 = this will completely “carpet” the ceiling with balloons.

Make sure to inflate them to the same size for consistency in your column. You will need about 11 balloons per foot of height for a standard size column.
